3 Steps to a Loving Relationship (1/3)

General

You may both expect that you will mainly be talking about your feelings and the past when coming to couple counselling.

Certainly, feelings are important and, like feelings, the past is important. However I would assert that talking through the inevitable problems and conflicts that you are both experiencing and understanding what you want to change, for example, arguing, withdrawing or blaming is the most difficult and crucial step in your counselling journey.

In order to make the counselling process easier, I created the Emerge form Conflict – 3 Steps to a Loving Relationship course, a package of three workshops that offers you a step by step program from recognizing and understanding your conflict, through agreeing ways to resolve your conflict to finally reaping the rewards of a loving relationship.

I have developed a style of working which will help you and your partner focus on your strengths, allowing you to build on the postives that are already inherent in your relationship.

As a result the 3 Steps to a Loving Relationship program is essentially a package of resources and materials, tailored to the unique experiences within your relationship. This toolkit will offer you an array of positive techniques and strategies to choose from and use as they are best suited to achieving your goals. They will help you stay focused on the change you wish to bring about and will help you keep a clear sense of direction.

These ways of working are as equally as useful for all relationships, heterosexual, gay, lesbian and family members such as father and son.

Do look in again for the 3 Steps to a Loving Relationship (Blog 2 of 3). This gives people like you the chance to sample some of the resources and materials used in my work, that were created, and that you may choose to use working with me, from my couple practice.
